The Sales Engineer’s primary responsibility is to assist our Field Sales Team with technical sales activities for new and existing opportunities. Sales Engineers will have in-depth knowledge of our solutions, competitors’ offerings and can demonstrate competitive advantages to both Prospects and Partners. The Sales Engineer is a critical component to the Sales Team and is designed to display an in-depth knowledge about industry related solutions and trends. Must be technically savvy, highly motivated, and self-directed.
We seek a Systems Engineer with abilities to conduct online product demonstrations, answer technical questions, contribute to proposals, and analyze client needs to provide technical solutions in a pre-sales technical role. In additional to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate’s interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence.
•Direct Sales Support (70%) •Accompany Sales Reps on sales calls for technical pre-sales support •Relate high level business issues to technical solutions •Communicate trends in process and technology by industry •Proactively develop and deliver solution development selling messages •Establish technical relationships and credibility with senior IT executives •Deliver quality written and oral presentations •Provide pre-qualification expertise to evaluate customer business needs and reshape them based on our differentiators •Work with the business development team to develop and execute solution selling strategies •Educate customers on our family of solutions •Manage customer expectations and achieve executive level buy-in •Develop and present results to various levels within a customer’s organization •Technical Solution Shaping (30%) •Map IT solutions to established business process, business and functional requirements documents •Drive shared vision and scope for solution presented to customer •Assess business value and contribute to development of business case and mapping to technical solutions
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
•8+ year’s technology consulting •Broad Microsoft platform skills •Excellent communication skills, written and oral •Broad understanding of Avanade Solutions, Offerings and Technical Capabilities •Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience •Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills •Project Management Methodologies •MCSP Certifications encouraged but not required •Willingness to travel
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
•Prior consulting experience (internal or external) •Experience developing, architecting and leading implementation of large Microsoft technology based solutions services engagements •B.S. Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related •Experience leading and developing teams •Experience in technical pre-sales support
